It’s been a while since we’ve gone on a hike, so we planned one for Sunday. It needed to be one closer to home and not too long because we were invited to Bryan and Shawna’s for dinner Sunday night.
Dave chose Table Top Mountain. The trail head is just outside of Jamestown.
To reach the trail head we had to open and close two gates between private property and then travel on a dirt road that is recommended only for four-wheel drive vehicles. This picture looks tame, but believe me I either had my eyes covered or was yelling out directions to Dave to avoid huge rocks or holes on the rest of the path. I even got out of the car at one point choosing to walk rather than being in the car.
I put my camera away for the climb up the hill because some parts were steep and rocky. Once we got to the top there was a beautiful view of New Melones Reservoir.
To top off the beautiful views, their was an abundance of blooming wildflowers at the top of the mountain.
All in all it was a good hike. And after… a delicious dinner at Bryan and Shawna’s!
P.S. Kari slept all the way home!
