My mom is a picture taker.  She takes pictures at every gathering.  Sometimes when mom and dad stop by for a quick visit she will pull the camera out of her purse to get a picture of Dave and I… just standing in the kitchen.

However, I have no recollection of mom ever owning a ‘real’ camera.  She uses disposable cameras, the ones that you just bring back to the drug store and they develop the pictures and toss the camera.

We bought her a digital camera for Christmas a few years ago, and she may have used it a few times.  I have no idea what happened to it, but it wasn’t long before she was back to her disposables.  We tease her about this all the time.

The quality of the pictures from these disposable cameras is terrible!  But mom doesn’t see that.  She sees beautiful pictures of her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She sees wonderful memories of all the places she and dad vacation.  And isn’t that all that really matters?

But we still like to tease her!

Mom asked Leslie to take a picture of her with her pregnant grand daughters. Leslie: "How does this thing work??" Mom: "You have to wind it up!" We all got a good laugh.
