Almost without fail when I take both dogs for a walk people that I pass will say, “What a beautiful dog.”  Now mind you, I am with BOTH dogs but I know the compliment is directed towards Buster.  I’m glad Kari doesn’t understand as she proudly walks by them otherwise I know she would develop a complex.  I know I would.

The other day Kevin and I were walking the dogs.  I was a little bit ahead of him.  Kari and I passed two men and we nodded hello.  Two seconds later I hear them say to Kevin, “Oh my… what a beautiful dog!”  I couldn’t help myself and I stopped, looked back at them and said, “What is she… chopped liver???”

They laughed and said, “She is cute too!”  (I know they were lying!)

Yesterday Kari had a vet appointment to update her shots.  I knew Dr. Baker would compliment her.  She was being such a good girl.  We chat for a while then he asks, “How is your son’s dog doing?”  “He’s a good boy”, I say.

Dr. Baker:  “He sure has grown to be an extremely handsome dog.”

I’m glad Kari thought he was talking about her.
