I’ve had some scary experiences river rafting.  And after each time I say I am never going again.  But when the opportunity comes up I always do.  Then I have another scary experience.  Why is that?  Why do I always go again?  Peer pressure!!  (Joyce can talk me into almost anything.)

In Oregon Joyce, Renae and I went down a portion of the Rogue River.  It was a blast!  Two days later more of us went and we started up a lot higher.  We went through a few sections that I would have rather walked around.  Joyce and Chuck flipped, lost their boat, and got caught in the worst section to body surf through.  We can laugh about it now, but believe me, it was anything but funny at the time.  It is still upsetting for me to think about what could have happened.

When we got back to camp we passed around the tequila bottle… our nerves were shot!

With all that in mind I can’t believe Dave and I are actually considering buying an inflatable kayak.  If we do, we will use it to paddle through calm lake waters… not raging rivers.  That is until Joyce comes with us and talks me into it!

Joyce leading the way.

Me with Renae… this is the boat I want.

This part was fun.  But it looks like I am screaming and letting Renae do all the work!
