While on our last trip Dave and I hiked, we took our kayak to Utica Lake and we drove over Ebbetts Pass and Monitor Pass (Ebbetts pass just opened on Friday.)  But my favorite thing we did was go 4-wheeling with Doug and Karen.  This was a new experience for us and I wasn’t sure what to expect.  I knew it was going to be a wild ride, but it far exceeded my expectations.

Doug chose the Slippery Rock jeep trail which is off the Spicer Reservoir road.  (That just opened right before we got there too… the Road Gods were good!)

These pictures don’t come close to doing justice on the steepness of the trail or the size of the boulders that we climbed over.

Yes, Karen and I got out to walk part of the trail.  The reason?  We needed the exercise.  (It’s our story and we’re sticking to it!)
