Newborn photography.  Ahhhh… what could be better?  Sweet tiny babies under two weeks old.  Rock them to sleep and put them in those squishy little poses.  They look so peaceful.

Now let’s get real!

Newborn photography is a very specialized niche.  But not mine.  It looks so easy…. HA!  It is the hardest photography I’ve ever done.

It’s supposed to be squishy baby, Brenden… not squishy face!

We gave up on this pose.

This will be cute...

At this point I think I was crying louder than Kenzie!

And then there was Natalie…

The first attempt was an epic failure.

In all fairness to Miss Natalie, we did get a few good shots and she is still one of my favorite subjects to photograph.

Finally asleep... Natalie

Finally asleep… Natalie

I don’t have Collin and Micah’s newborn pictures on my computer anymore, but I don’t remember struggling as much with them.  Maybe that’s why I kept on trying with newborns.

But I think for the next babies I will have a list of professional newborn photographers’ names ready to hand out!
